Only two schools from Uasin Gishu County were ranked among the top 100 best performing in this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results that were released on Wednesday.

The two, Moi Girls High School Eldoret and Segero Adventist Academy have been the traditional best performing schools in the county in the national examination.

Moi Girls with 289 candidates emerged top in the county and ranked 7th best nationally with a performing index of 67.526491.

It also produced two of the top 10 candidates nationally with Sharon Chepchumba emerging the second best with a mean grade of 86.830 while Wahome Wanjiku was ranked 9th with 85.86.

Segero Adventist Academy emerged second best in Uasin Gishu and ranked 28 nationally with a performing index of 62.735687.

The Seventh Day Adventist church (SDA) managed school located over 40 kilometers from Eldoret town had 32 candidates.

Neighboring Elgeyo Marakwet county produced the best performing school, Sing'ore girls, with two others also making it among top 100.

Sing'ore girls, an extra county school with 271 candidates registered a 69.98921 performing index to emerge top with St. Patrick's Iten listed at position 37 and Metkei Secondary school coming it at number 66.

Kapsabet Boys, a national school with 511 candidates topped the list in Nandi county with a performing index of 67.402749 to be ranked 8th nationally while Kapsabet Girls High school with a performance index of 55.724735 was ranked at number 76.
