Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren will defend his seat in the August 8 general election after clinching the Jubilee Party ticket.
According to provisional results announced at the Teachers Advisory Centre in Eldoret town, Tiren garnered 10,497 votes to win the seat ahead of his closest competitor Donald Murgot who garnered 7, 157 votes, while lawyer Jude Chesire came third with 4,821 votes.
Speaking to the press outside the tallying centre, the jubilated aspirant said his desire to defend farmers earned him the Jubilee ticket.
"I have been very vocal in fighting for farmers rights I this county and this is the main reason as to why my voters still believe in me," said Tiren.
"I am ready and will continue working closely with the Deputy President to ensure we deliver 100 percent votes for the President in August," he added.
