Speaking at Eldoret Equity bank branch on Wednesday when he received 30 scholarships for needy students from the Wings to fly programme, the county deputy boss said education is important.

He said that in the current society one needs to have proper education to survive.

The deputy county governor noted that education has the potential of opening opportunities for those who take it seriously.

“Students should understand that education is the key to a good life,” he said.

Chemno asked parents to make sure that they send their children to school.

He observed that access to education has been made easier with the introduction of Free Primary Education. The deputy governor however asked the national government to pump more money into the education sector.

Chemno indicated that the sector needs more resources to ensure that everyone has access to quality and affordable education.

Equity’s Eldoret Branch manager Joseph Muiruri said the bank will invest more into the country’s education sector.

He added that the wings to fly programme is meant to enable needy student’s access and further their education.
