Uasin Gishu County government is poised to create job opportunities for thousands of jobless youths through the establishment of business incubators.
CEC in charge ICT, E-Government, Trade and Tourism Emily Kogos said the county government will spend millions of shillings to invest in business incubator centers which will empower them financially
"As a government, we know what the youths are going through that is why we have embraced this program. The centers will offer training to youths on management and also how to start a business the exact amount will be communicated sooner or later," she said in Eldoret town, Saturday.
"The scheme will be rolled out in all the six sub-counties, the days where youths used to stay without doing anything is now gone," she added.
She, however, urged youths to ensure that they join groups for them to get funds from both the county and national governments for them to starts a small business to help them earn a living.
Kogos thanked Governor Jackson Mandago for giving her a chance to serve in his government and promised to work for the residents without any discrimination.
