This was revealed yesterday by the County Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno in Eldoret speaking to journalists.

Chemno said that the county will now use its upgraded ICT department to register all formal businesses in the county and boost revenue collection through efficient collection of levies.

"Very soon it will be very possible for people to use SMS system to get any relevant information concerning the county services; use M-PESA to pay for their licenses and other things. That is why we have invested heavily on the ICT platform," Chemno said.

He added that the county has set aside Sh90 million, according to the County Bursary Law to be used by 600 needy students who are training in skilled development at The Rift-Valley Technical Institute.
