Uasin Gishu controversial tycoon Jackson Kibor has sued his two sons accusing them of causing him distress and tainting his reputation.
The 83-year-old prominent farmer and former politician has accused his two sons Ezekiel Kiprotich and Evans Kosgei of causing him mental anguish by making claims that saw police detain him last year.
Kibor who recently filed a divorce against his third wife says that claims by his sons that he tried to shoot them led to his incarceration which limited his freedom. This is in reference to a case on 2017 when he was charged with threatening to kill and misusing a firearm.
The former politician says that the criminal proceedings against him led to the withdrawal of his firearm, which caused him mental suffering besides being unlawfully detained.
He also accuses the police of failing to carry out investigations to ascertain his sons' allegations and claims that the police preferred criminal charges against him just to appease his sons.
Kibor has sued his sons and the state for damages and wants compensation for the losses he incurred while defending the case.
These include the Sh800,000 he claims to have spent on legal fees, Sh5000 police bond and Sh80,000 cash bail that he paid.
