The chicks from the 'Inua Mama' project by the county government are set to benefit all women from all wards in the county.

Speaking in Kapseret during the donation, Opportunity Africa director Cornelius Chepsoi said the county was targeting to donate 50,000 chicks to 500 women groups with each group getting 100 chicks for a start.

“We are giving out the chicks to groups in Kapseret and five other wards which include Huruma, Langas, Race course and Tarakwa. We will be issuing chicks to five groups each week for the next 10 weeks,” said Chepsoi.

The Inua Mama initiative was given the tender by the county government to identify women groups, issue chicks and do follow-ups on their rearing.

Kapseret MCA Pauline Tuwei who presided over the event praised the initiative saying it will greatly improve the lives of women in the region.

Inua Mama Initiative is set to be formally launched by the county government.
