Speaking at the 64 stadium in Eldoret town during the Labour Day celebrations, Central Organizations of Trade Union (Cotu) Uasin Gishu branch chairman Peter Odima said the increment would positively transform the livelihoods of many workers.

He told all workers to ensure the new directive is implemented beginning next month.

"We are happy the President remembered us. This is the highest percentage a worker in this country has ever been awarded during the labor day celebrations," said Odima.

"To the employers, we want to tell them that they should implement the increment beginning June as we will be moving round those work places and we will take action against those who will not have adhered to the directive" he added.
