The county government of Uasin Gishu has established strategies in which traders can use to improve their businesses. 

The initiative comes after the department of trade identified the possible forms of empowering traders with county loan cheques.

Speaking at the county headquarters where he issued out loan cheques to traders, the chief officer for trade in Uasin Gishu county Simeon Cheplel said the county is fully pledged to support traders by empowering and totally supporting the developments of cooperative societies for the counties growth.

The chamber of commerce's Obed Anyona said the trade union fosters growth amongst the business people urging traders to engage in consultations and other links of businesses for easy access to information.

"Do some inquiries as you can since there is no way you can meet your targets without being creative,” said Anyona.

Meanwhile, one of the successful traders who have benefited more than three times from the trade loan stated that the initiative has enabled her build seven rental houses with profits earned from her businesses.
