Addressing drivers at Karura Forest on Monday, Kenya Taxi Digital Association chairman Emmanuel Kasina, said they will soon move to court to oppose the new rates.

Kasina criticised the management for not involving all stakeholders prior to making the decision.

The chair further said they have already notified the police of the planned Tuesday demonstrations, which are set to be held between 10am and 1pm.

The drivers threatened to move to other firms, saying the move will reduce their daily earnings.

“Uber is using warlike measures to dominate the market. We are not pleading with them as we have other options to work with,” said Kasina.

He has urged all Uber drivers to switch off their gadgets ahead of the demonstrations.
