The topflight taxi firm Uber has launched several changes in its app to improve the customer-driver relationship in a bid to survive increased competition from other key players in the industry.
In a statement that was seen by Business Daily, the international taxi company said that the changes they are rolling out are intended at improving customers’ experience with Uber.
“We are committed to ensuring that both riders and drivers are always happy with the entire Uber experience. Because of this, we will be rolling out several changes and improvements to the driving experience over the next few weeks,” the statement reads in part as quoted by the Business Daily.
Several changes introduced include; In-App chat, a security feature that protects drivers’ accounts from fraudsters. The firm also introduced a feature that allows drivers to accept or reject a long trip so as to improve the entire experience.
“We are giving drivers more information that helps them make the decision that is right for them. While there are drivers who aren’t in a position to accept long trips, there are some who really appreciates it,” Uber East Africa spokesperson Janet Kemboi said.
