There was a build up of traffic in different parts of Nairobi on Wednesday afternoon after drivers under the Kenya Digital Taxi Association held demonstrations.

The drivers operating under Uber, Taxify, Little Cab and Mondo mobile applications flooded the streets with their vehicles honking their horns with the license plates covered.

They could be seen along Ring Road, Uhuru Highway, Ngong Road, Wayaki Way and CBD streets.

The drivers took to the streets to protest the policies they deemed were 'unfriendly' by their service providers.

They also issued a statement saying that they would discontinue their services until certain terms are met.

Complaints raised by the drivers include the companies decision to raise discounts and give out free rides without consultation.

Furthermore, the drivers demand that the companies increase the minimum charges and for the respective firms to stop hiring new drivers.
