Uchumi Supermarkets are set to close two of their branches in Nairobi by end of January.

This is a move in a bid by the retailer to scout for locations yielding more profits.

Uchumi will close their Capital Centre branch along Mombasa Road as well as Jipange branch along Thika Road.

This will reduce their branch network from the current 20 outlets to 18.

They further plan to shut their Sarit outlet April this year when their branch network will drop further to 17.

Uchumi Supermarkets has been dwelling on cutting costs and maximising profits from business in the region.
