According to a public notice to its shareholders and the general public, the meeting which was scheduled to be held on December 20, 2017 has been pushed to a later date so as to allow for negotiations with a potential investor.
The company's board anticipates that the AGM will be held before March 31, 2018.The negotiations come even as Julius Kipng’etich who was Uchumi's chief executive officer resigned from the retailer last week. Below is a full statement from the company's secretary Enid Muriuki:
