Uchumi to reopen on December 14, 2017, after restocking. [Photo| @ UchumiKenya]Uchumi Supermarkets will on Thursday, December 14 reopen its Nairobi branches to the public. This is according to a notice from the Uchumi's management issued on Wednesday, December 13, 2017.The retail chain had temporarily closed its Nairobi branches on Wednesday to restock shelves.The closure came days after its Chief Executive Officer, Julius Ngetich, resigned from the position last month after serving at the helm of the company for two years. Kipngetich was said to have left to pursue personal interests.The Board is in the process of identifying a suitable employee to replace the former CEO. Uchumi has recently had numerous financial problems which has led to empty shelves in most of its branches.
