A 36-year-old man of Uganda national was arraigned in Naivasha court on Friday charged with defiling an eight year old girl in Karangita village, in Nakuru County.
The accused, David Sibera, was charged that on December 7, last year in Karangita village, he committed the heinous act and threatened to kill the girl if she revealed the issue to anyone.
Appearing before chief magistrate Esther Mulwa, the accused, a farm hand in the area was said to have lured the young girl with a queen cake,, and after the girl ate the cake she agreed to get into the accused person's where he defiled her.
The mother told the court that the farm hand was a common figure in the neighborhood, and noticed something was wrong with her daughter as she was experiencing a lot of problems walking, and took her to Naivasha sub county hospital where the medics discovered that she had been defile.
Prosecuting chief inspector James Owino asked the court to decline a plea the accused person had fronted to the court that his S350,000 bond be reduced to Sh200,000, stating that the accused person was a criminal who deserved to be locked up.
Owino said the accused had earlier been released from prison, after serving a two year term for being in the country illegally.
The court refused to review the bail and ordered the accused to honour Sh350,000 as directed by the same court on December 23 last year.
The case will resume on May 5, when investigating officer and the examining doctor will testify.
