Speaking at Katelembo Center of Excellence on Monday where an inferno guttered down a dormitory, Munyaka said the country’s economy has remained stagnated due to the political stalemate witnessed shortly after the repeat presidential elections.

“We have been through a moment of realization after we came out of the politics that marred the 2017’s presidential polls. It has taken us a lot of time than it should have to realize that politicking without paying attention to development is of no use,” Munyaka said .

Munyaka said the recent Uhuru-Raila handshake should be received in good faith.

He called on Kenyans not to speculate on the hidden agenda in the truce where others, according to him, think it is meant to determine the next president.

“The handshake has got no other meaning than the obvious as it appears. It was the burying of the hatchet for the good nation's. That is what the two leaders spoke about on that day when each of them gave a speech,” Munyaka stated..

He added that: “President Kenyatta should now be left to do his development agenda since he is not interested in any politics in the country come 2022.”

As he distributed bursary funds to the constituents amounting to Sh10 million, Munyaka encouraged parents, teachers, pupils’ partnership to ensure that education standards are improved  in the area.
