President Uhuru Kenyatta today admitted concurring with ODM leader Raila Odinga on devolution issues.

While speaking during the burial ceremony of former Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua, Uhuru said the county officials should ensure the devolved functions are pursued and fulfilled.

"I have to admit that it is my first time to agree with Hon. Raila," said Kenyatta.

Raila had earlier challenged the county MCAs to pass the finance bill in time to ensure county functions are not paralyzed.

Uhuru challenged the incoming governor Samuel Wamathai to pursue the late Gachagua's agenda to ensure Nyeri county is developed especially agriculturally.

Gachagua is the first governor to die while in office.
