President Uhuru Kenyatta admitted watching ODM leader Raila Odinga in a presidential debate which he skipped despite being invited.
The two were expected to face each other on Monday night but Uhuru chose to give it a wide berth, with Odinga honoring the invitation,
At Nyeri, Uhuru said he was not ready to debate because his track record was evident and that Odinga had nothing to tell Kenyans.
“I am happy that I skipped the debate because it adds nothing to my track record. Kenyans will chose me based on what I have done for five years.
“I watched my competitor telling Kenyans absolutely nothing and I must say that I would have embarrassed myself should I have appeared,” he said.
Earlier, a number of social media users had circulated a photo which purportedly showed Uhuru following proceedings at unidentified place.
Despite giving indications of not attending in 2013, Uhuru showed up against the wishes of many and Kenyans also expected him to appear on Monday.
