A survey by Washington- based Freedom House has ranked Kenya as one of 'partly free' country in global status of freedom.
The report puts president Uhuru Kenyatta's human rights record on a precarious position with growing claims of his allegedly attempt to covert Kenyan to a dictatorial territory.
"Kenya shall resist attempts by Uhuru to water down our democratic gains. We are aware of his plans to make this country a single party state," opposition leader Raila Odinga claimed in one of media briefing.
And according to the report, Kenya dropped from a 51 percent to 48 percent, an empirical evidence on rising claims of benevolent dictatorship by Jubilee administration.
Last year's violence after elections, lack of substantive reforms in electoral body are among critical issues that undermines Uhuru's leadership.
"These factors undermined the credibility of Uhuru's victory in which he claimed 98 percent victory amid low voter turnout," says the report.
By count, at least 50 people were killed by police according to Amnesty International, with many cases linked to alleged police brutality.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga, has however, persistently insisted that over 200 opposition supporters were shot dead by the police.
