President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to turn out in large numbers to re-elect Jubilee administration which has proved to be a government that cares for the interests of all Kenyans.
He said his Administration has delivered on its promises to Kenyans including the improvement of healthcare, expansion of infrastructure network, increasing access to electricity and modernising the country’s security forces among other achievements.
The President said the country was able to make strides in development because of the peace and harmony that has existed since the Jubilee Administration came into power.
The President spoke as he toured Baringo County and addressed rallies in Kabartonjo, Margat, Kabarnet and Eldama Ravine.
“We have been able to build roads, expand electricity connections, installed modern equipment in two hospitals in each county through the Managed Equipment Service (MES) and also expanded the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to cater for all other ailments,” said President Kenyatta.
He pointed out that unlike before when NHIF cards were used co cover minor ailments, the Jubilee government has ensured Kenyans suffering from kidney problems, cancer and any other disease are able to access medical services.
The President told the residents of Baringo County that when re-elected the government will expand the NHIF services to cover for free special groups like new mothers, the elderly, families with children with disabilities among others.
He also spoke of Jubilee’s plan to offer paid internships graduates from Universities and Technical Training Institute to help them gain experience and expertise required for the job market.
As he wrapped up his tour with a rally at Eldama Ravine, urged the Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission to take a non partisan approach as they dispense their duties.
“IEBC should know that it was not created to serve Raila or Uhuru or Kalonzo or Ruto among other leaders but it is supposed to serve all the 45 million Kenyans,” said President Kenyatta.
He assured Kenyans that the Government will ensure peace prevails even as the country gears for 8th August polls.
The President said the Government would not allow anybody to threaten the lives of Kenyans at this time when the country is preparing for elections.
He castigated opposition figures over their incessant talk of stolen elections saying their aim is to create fear and despondency among peace loving Kenyans.
“The opposition leader likes creating fear amongst Kenyans by insinuating that election will be rigged thereby inciting his supporters to create violence,” said President Kenyatta.
On development, the President said the government has earmarked 350 Km road for tarmacking in Baringo county saying this is among other initiatives such as construction of dams that are key to the improvement of their livelihoods.
Among the water projects being undertaken by Jubilee government in Baringo County include Kirandich dam, Kapindaram dam that are aimed at providing clean water for use and for irrigation purposes.
The President said once all water projects are complete, Baringo residents will not only produce enough food for themselves but also for sale to other Kenyans.
Deputy President Ruto urged the residents of the County to come out in large numbers to vote on August 8th to ensure development agenda continues.
He cited the Marigat-Muchongoi-Karangi-Laikipia road which he said, the government has already given out the tender and that the contractor will be on site in the next three weeks.
He also said the government has set aside Sh 20 billion for the construction of Radat dam which will help to provide clean water for consumption and irrigation activities in the area.
