Kenyans on Twitter have yet again taken swipe on President Uhuru Kenyatta following his message of condolence to the family of Prof. Calestous Juma.
Juma, who was recognized as most reputable person on earth in 2017, died in Boston, USA on Friday.
"i have learnt the death of Juma with profound shock. He was a true patriot and his contributions to innovations were enormous," wrote Uhuru.
But the message did not go down well with a section of KOT who accused Uhuru of belittling people who matter at least when they are alive.
His list of preference for Head of State Commendation dominated Twitter with the users accusing Uhuru of allegedly rewarding 'mediocrity' instead of 'merit'.
"He is now hailing him as a great man but saw it wise to recognize Githeri man instead of this great academic scholar," argued Charles Onyango.
Bernard Aloo said: "They are now pretending to recognize him yet when he was alive he never mattered at all to them."
Besides Uhuru, a number of leaders among them Raila Odinga and Rwanda President Paul Kagame have recognized Juma's contribution to science and innovation.
At Jamhuri Day, a section of Kenyans accused Uhuru of rewarding certain people who 'did not deserve' the HSC award.
