President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans to reject the opposition during the forthcoming polls.
Speaking on Tuesday during his tour of Kisii County, the Head of State claimed that the Opposition has no agenda for the country, calling for issue-based campaigns even as the elections date draw nigh.
He further took a swipe on NASA leaders, telling them off on his administration's achievements.
“They are always criticising everything we do. They criticised the standard gauge railway, but, last week, we launched it and we’ve already secured money to extend it. It will pass here in Kisii to Kisumu,” he said.
“They have a right to contest elections, but let them tell Kenyans what they want to do for them because Kenyans are smart people — they are not for divisive politics, propaganda and insults. We don’t want to go back to the 2007-08 violence," he added.
The Head of State is facing stiff competition from a re-energized and united Opposition, as he seeks to win a second term in office.
He will be facing off with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is giving the presidency a fourth stab.
