On Monday, the Head of State accused National Super Alliance flag-bearer Raila Odinga of the stagnating the economy while also issuing demonstrators a stern warning that they will be dealt with should they break the law.
"Hii maneno yake ndiyo inafanya uchumi usiendelee (His statements stagnate the growth of the economy)," Uhuru said as quoted by The Star.
President Uhuru Kenyatta spoke during a campaign rally in Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties.
The two counties represent two key strongholds for the president as he began his vote hunt for the October 26 poll.
He was joined by Deputy President William Ruto Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki, Senator Kindiki Kithure.
"They [opposition] have to decide whether they want to be the adjudicators or the candidates, because they cannot be both,"Uhuru said.
DP Ruto echoed the presidents statements and told the opposition party to worry about the October 26 poll instead of the IEBC.
"They want to precipitate a constitutional crisis so they can ascend to power through the backdoor, but we are telling them that will not happen,"the Deputy President said.
