President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed Heads of State and government, ministers, leaders from the corporate world, senior policy makers, heads of international institutions and academia at the 8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The forum avails a unique opportunity for Kenya and Rwanda to further the cause of development and promote cooperation.
He urged Gujarat investors to partner with Kenyan entrepreneurs and explore the wide range of investment opportunities existing in our country.
This is after he left the Country Tuesday morning, for a two-day State visit to India.
He was received by senior Indian government officials when he arrived at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad.
He also held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Summit.
"My visit to India follows a similar visit by Prime Minister Modi to Kenya last year that saw the signing of several agreements between our two countries,'' he said.
Modi's visit saw signing of the Sh1.5 billion Line of Credit Agreement to IDB Capital Limited for development of small and medium enterprises and the Sh2.99 billion Line of Credit Agreement to upgrade the Rift Valley Textiles (Rivatex) factory.
While in India, Uhuru met Rwandan President Paul Kagame on the sidelines of the 8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017.
The main areas this visit focuses on include collaboration in trade, healthcare, manufacturing, defence, and ICT.
"We look forward to signing a number of agreements that will further boost the existing mutual cooperation between Kenya and India,'' he said.
Uhuru is also scheduled to hold further bilateral meetings with chiefs of Industry from Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Tata and Infosys, attend the Kenya-India Business forum and meet Kenyans living in India.
