President Uhuru Kenyatta was on friday honoured with a doctorate degree for his leadership and management of the Country's affairs at Kabarak University.
While accepting the Doctor of Leadership degree, Kenyatta said that he was very proud to be associated with the values that the university stood for as reflected in its vision, mission and also the various programmes and services.
“I also associate myself with with the ethos which continue to inspire the founder and chancellor of the University, former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. These values, passion for quality education, leadership of high standards to the community, consistent vision and steadfast focus- are ideal that all successful leaders must embrace,” said Kenyatta.
Uhuru added that the doctorate award has encouraged and inspired him to continue serving Kenyans by hard work. “
I am assuring all the institutions of higher learning that the government will support them through productive partnerships that will in return benefit the Country's young people,” added Uhuru.
Former President Daniel Moi, who is the Chancellor of the University congratulated Uhuru for receiving the doctorate degree.
“I am encouraging the president and also assuring him that there is always a reward for doing good for the country,” said Moi.
Kabarak's University Vice-chancellor Prof. Jones Kaleli outlined Uhuru's achievement in his political career, initiation of the economic programmes, commissioning of the standard Gauge Railway and the proposal one million acre Galana-Kulalu irrigation projects.
