Public servants will no longer travel outside the country without official clearance by President Uhuru Kenyatta, shows a secret letter by Chief of Staff Joseph kinyua.
Although the authenticity of the letter is not yet confirmed, it however, doesn’t specify why Uhuru is taking powers of the immigration department.
A clear examination of the letter dated 13th September and copied to all government departments, bears an authentic signature of Kinyua.
It reads:”this is to notify you that it has been decided, until further advised, otherwise, no government official will travel outside the country without clearance by the president.”
“For avoidance of any doubt, the officials in reference include Attorney General, Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Director of Boards.”
It is not yet established why the president is issuing the directives or, otherwise the motive behind the restrictions.
The copy of the letter was first posted by renowned KTN investigate and crime reporter Dennis Onsarigo on his Twitter handle.
