When President Uhuru Kenyatta interrupted a session of the fortnightly State House Summit, he criticised senior government officials for their half-hearted fight on corruption.

Uhuru was watching the proceedings on TV within State House on Tuesday morning but the buck-passing by those on the panel seemed to anger him. He walked in and asked for the microphone.

He accused those tasked with investigations and prosecution of failing the country by being weak all around.

For 19 minutes and 15 seconds, Uhuru complained of the lacklustre performance by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Attorney General, Judiciary and the Auditor General.

He defended his government saying that he has allocated enough resources to fight the vice. He compared his tenure with the previous ones saying he had done more than any other administration in the country’s history in the fight against corruption.

Uhuru expressed his frustration with the slow progress in the war on grand theft.

“What is your problem? If there has been theft, tell us if it is Uhuru who stole. What do you want me to do? A lot of nonsense if I may say the least,” he said.

The president squarely laid the blame on Ethics and Anti-Graft Commission (EACC) boss Halakhe Waqo, Attorney General Githu Muigai, Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko, Auditor General Edward Ouko and the Judiciary for failing to prosecute corrupt individuals.

But this has not gone down well with Kenyans on twitter who have accused of failing to use his authority to stamp out corruption.

Uhuru has the POWER to fight corruption, what he doesn't have, however is the WILL to do it #CryBabyPresident

From the summit where several critics had been invited, Kenyans will have to wait to see if the indictment on the anti-corruption authorities will work.
