President Uhuru Kenyatta has been blamed for reportedly responding to queries of opposition leader Raila Odinga during the funeral of veteran politician William ole Ntimama.
Uhuru was openly furious after Mr Odinga claimed that the veteran leader, who towards his offset had shown an interest in joining Jubilee, that had given him a call denying being in Jubilee government.
And in an interview with the reporter Narc-Kenya MP Elijah Moindi seemed to fault the president for going overboard on a ‘light’ matter.
“I think he (Uhuru) missed the point when he openly responded to opposition leaders Raila Odinga. He should have ignored Odinga’s remarks because of his place and position in the society. That was uncalled for,” he said.
The Nyaribari Masaba MP added: “Uhuru is not only the leader of Jubilee but the head of State which differentiates his roles from those of Odinga. The opposition leader has a right to critique but the president should have preserved his emotions.”
Moindi also urged politicians to refrain from discussing political matters during funerals and church survives saying the trend was worrying.
“It doesn’t mean that Odinga was right either when he ignited the debate but the stature of the two is the issue. My plea to politicians is that we should desist from engaging in political matters at occasions such as in funerals,” he said.
