Barely a day after president Uhuru Kenyatta issued IDPs from Kisii a whooping Sh358 million, a section of locals have subjected him to online outburst.
Uhuru is on a two days tour to vote rich Gusii region and is expected to make a number of stop overs in Nyamira County on Wednesday.
While it has taken over a decade to compensate the victims of PEV of 2007/08, a number of social media users were not kind to Kenyatta.
“This is pure Public Relation exercise and he knows that. It is sad that Kisii IDPs are treated as third class citizens,” said Vincent Osumo.
Dan Onyancha on his part said: “It beats logic that one waits for a decade to be given only Sh50, 000. This is even worse than that violence.”
Initially, former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru had categorized the displaced persons from Gusii as Integrated IDPs and subsequently compensating them with Sh10, 000.
Ironically, Kenyatta had compensated IDPs from Central and Rift Valley regions with a whooping Sh400, 000 and an additional 2 acres land.
