A bodyguard attached to the presidential escort unit has been arrested.
The officer was put behind bars for allegedly stealing a pistol from his colleague and trying to sell it.
He will be arraigned in court on Monday (November 6).
The suspect was based at the Ruiru General Service Unit (GSU) camp and was nabbed on Saturday allegedly selling the Jericho pistol with 15 bullets to another suspect broker based in Kawangware area.
According to Citizen, the officer obtained the weapon and ammunition from their main armory at the Ruiru camp.
Police swung into action to arrest their colleague and managed to trace the buyer in Kawangware where they recovered the weapon.
