Outspoken Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire is likely to share a platform with President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is scheduled to visit the constituency on Wednesday in his Nyamira-Kisii counties visits.

This will be the president’s first official visit to Nyamira County and is expected to inspect the ongoing construction of Metamaywa –Kebirigo and Kemera-Amabuko road before proceeding to the neighboring Kisii County.

Bosire recently had his security withdrawn after defying the President’s order to stand in honour of soldiers who had died in Somalia earlier this year, a move that precipitated his move to court to seek reinstatement of his guards.

“The MP has nothing against the President because he is the President of the nation. He will be there the welcome him whether through invitation or not because this is his area of jurisdiction,” said Bosire’s Personal Assistant Justus Omiti.

“He is coming to work for the people of Kitutu, and as MP, Bosire is happy to hear the news about the President’s visits. Those two roads should be completed urgently and it’s good that he is coming to give the order. There is a difference between politics and development,” Omiti added.

However, the details about the President’s visit to the vote rich Gusii region have been scanty with a top Jubilee politician who spoke on condition of anonymity revealing the itinerary of the president.

“It’s true that he is coming tomorrow to Nyamira and his stop over will be in Kitutu Masaba. The visit has been made secret because he wanted to surprise residents. He is coming for sure and all plans are in place,” said the politician who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak on behalf of presidency.
