Deputy President William Ruto was branded a new title by his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta, during their inauguration at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday.

After completing his lengthy speech, Uhuru said he would lead a prayer with help of Ruto, saying: "I want us to pray and say the Lord's prayer. I'll start it in English and my brother here, pastor, will finish in Kiswahili."

He possibly called Ruto 'pastor' due to his roles in church and school during his youthful days.

As he addressed the participants, Ruto said the inauguration was as a result of prayers and not witchcraft, as Jubilee supporters had said in a victory song.

"I agree with you. It is not by witchcraft, it is about prayer. And today, I want us to sing that there is no God like ours, and I will be the soloist," Ruto said.

Ruto later said the Lord's prayer in Kiswahili after Uhuru prayed in English.
