The government of Kenya through Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary has termed Raila Odinga's swearing -in as an 'attempt to overthrow legally constituted regime'.
At a ceremony attended by thousands of NASA supporters, Raila took oath as People's President, a move that President uhuru Kenyatta's government insists is under investigations.
"What we witnessed at Uhuru Park was well choreographed attempt to subvert or overthrow a legally constituted government of Kenya," read a statement.
Already, a top opposition legislator, TJ Kajwang of Ruaraka, was arrested under unclear circumstances with initial reports indicating connections to the swearing-in.
And according to Matiang'i, a trusted lieutenant and mouth piece of Uhuru, the government has commenced investigations over the same matter.
"The government has commenced full investigations around the purported swearing-in of Raila. This will extend to conspirators and facilitators and a legal action will be taken."
While Raila was taking oath at Uhuru Park, the president was concluding his tour to the neighbouring Ethiopia where he attended AU summit.
