President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday supported Rongai farmers after he bought goats worth Sh2 million.
Through Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui, the President bought the 200 goats at the Nakuru Easter Goat Auction at Banita Livestock Market in Soin Ward.
The event will be an annual auction to be held a week before Easter.
During the auction, goats and sheep worth Sh5.7 million were sold.
Others who bought goats are Deputy President William Ruto who went away with 100 goats, Lee Kinyanjui 30 goats and his deputy Erick Korir 10.
The event is meant to create market for Rongai farmers and borrows from Baringo's popular Kimalel goat auction.
