The Jubilee Party will on Thursday hold a meeting to discuss, among others, the chaos that have marred party elections in counties.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for an urgent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to set the date for primaries.
Also to be discussed is the divisive issue of Jubilee smart cards.
Several aspirants have criticised the proposed use of the cards, saying it will favour some aspirants.
However, Party head of secretariat Raphael Tuju has insisted the cards will be used in the primaries.
The aspirants are also said to be tired of waiting in anxiety the announcement of nominations dates.
“The issue on the exact dates when the nominations will be held and approval of the county elections boards will be key among agenda,” Jubilee’s NEB Vice Chair Veska Kangogo said.
She said the Board will give out the specific date for Jubilee primaries by the end of this week.
She said on Thursday that all members of the party will be allowed to participate in the nomination exercise.
Some aspirants have said members should be allowed to use their national ID cards or voters’ card, as opposed to the smart cards.
Party Vice Chairman David Murathe however said only those with the smart card and appear in party register will be allowed to take part in party primaries.
