President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Garissa residents to help fight al Shabaab.

According to the Head of State the move will ensure the dusk to dawn curfew is lifted.

The three month was put in place by acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i in Garissa, Lamu and Tana to contain the militant group.

Speaking in Garissa on Sunday, Uhuru said that curfews will be lifted after all militant groups hiding in Boni forest are rooted and prosecuted.

"There is no government that can use a few people to make the larger majority suffer and we call upon everyone to work with us to ensure this stops, we will then be able to lead peaceful lives onwards," he said.

"We will do this together because we all want the freedom to go on with normal lives after we capture these militants." Uhuru added.
