President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans to maintain peace as the country heads towards the August 8 General Election.

The President was speaking as he joined family and friends at burial of Mzee William Gatuhi Murathe, father to Jubilee Party vice chairman David Murathe, at his farm in Gatanga, Murang’a County.Speaking at the funeral service at PCEA Kirwara Church, President Kenyatta eulogised Mzee Murathe as a prominent businessman and a hard worker who played a key role in developing his community.

At the same event, Water Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, and his Devolution colleague, Mwangi Kiunjuri, defended the involvement of CS’s in politics, saying they must implement and defend Jubilee projects.

And Transport CS James Macharia, while eulogizing Murathe’s business acumen, urged Murang’a residents to come out in large numbers to vote on August 8 after recording impressive voter listing.

Others present were Governor Mwangi wa Iria, Senator Kembi Gitura, Woman Rep Sabina Chege and MPs Humphrey Njuguna, Jamleck Kamau, Irungu Kang’ata, Moses Kuria among others.
