President Uhuru Kenyatta has received a thousand Ford Kenya defectors during his tour of Trans Nzoia Wednesday.

The group included Martin Waliaula, who served as county secretary general of the party steered by NASA principal Moses Wetang'ula.

"We were mistreated in the Opposition but Jubilee Party was welcoming," Waliaula said as quoted by the Star.

He added that they will support the president so he is re-elected in the October 26 repeat polls.

The President welcomed the leaders saying that Jubilee accommodates every Kenyan and gives a conducive environment for its members.

"We want a party that is devoid of tribalism and one that does not discriminate on grounds of colour or religion."

He promised to ensure their demands are met after the elections and advised them to remain in the government so that future demands are addressed.

"Ensure you are fully in government so you are part of its plans," he said.
