Kiambu Governor William Kabogo says he has no problem with President Uhuru Kenyatta campaigning for Kabete lawmaker Ferdinand Waititu.
Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV Monday, Kabogo said he will be defending his seat as an independent candidate after failing to secure a Jubilee ticket. He was defeated by Waititu in the party primaries. He says that he holds no grudge against Kenyatta.Kabogo added that he does not mind Kenyatta endorsing Waititu in the campaigns.''I would not worry about President Kenyatta campaigning for Waititu since he is the party's ticket holder,'' said Kabogo. He added that it is within the President's right to support, endorse or campaign for a candidate of his choice in the race.Kabogo maintains that Waititu won unfairly but vowed to support President Uhuru's re-election into office for the second term.''It is clear that there was foul play during the nominations but I am over that already. Despite being an independent candidate, I support President Kenyatta's re-election,'' he said.
