President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday hit out at the Coalition of Reformed Democracy for not upholding the rule of law.
The President took to his official twitter account to question why Cord was holding protests instead of carrying out things basing on the law.
Uhuru made the remarks after the Cord coalition led by Raila Odinga and co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, marched to the IEBC offices at Anniversary Towers on Monday in their quest to eject the IEBC commissioners from office.
Uhuru who condemned the ct said: ‘If you want the IEBC commissioners out, follow the law. Those demonstrating fought for the constitution and told us to follow it. Why are they finding it difficult to follow the same law?’
‘We will not allow anyone to create tension in the country and incite people. You only have a right to assemble and speak but not destroy,’ he added.
Cord has accused the electoral commission of colluding with the Jubilee government to rig the elections.
The opposition now demands that the officials be evicted from office before the coming general elections in 2017.
