Timothy Bosire sensationally claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta paid conmen masquerading as IDPs in his last week’s tour in Kisii.
During the tour, Uhuru disbursed a whooping Sh800 million that were meant for victims of 2007/08 PEV from Gusii community.
Barely a week after Uhuru’s tour, already county commissioners from Nyamira and Kisii Counties has halted the exercise following demonstrations by a section of victims who accused the government of shortchanging them.
“I warned that the entire process was opaque because we never saw any audit being done to ascertain genuine beneficiaries,” he said.
Bosire added: “Only conmen were targeted and it is good that people have opened their eyes. We cannot allow people to take the community for granted.”
Protestors claim that their names were deliberately omitted despite having registered as IDP for over a decade now.
In Kisii, demonstrations rocked the town till late evening with County Commissioner Samuel Njora postponing the payment until the matter is reviewed.
