President Uhuru Kenyatta has pleaded with the Kuria Community to back his reelection bid during the upcoming October 26 presidential repeat elections.
Speaking on Wednesday when he met a delegation of 2,000 leaders from the community, the Head of State discussed his agenda for them, pledging to roll out more programmes for the region in the coming days.
“The Jubilee government is keen on ensuring that all Kenyans get quality services. We will therefore continue ensuring that Kuria residents do not lack the essential services,” he remarked.
“On the issue of health, we will ensure that we put up clinics in each of the four sub-counties so that residents are able to access health services closer to their homes,” he added.
Uhuru also thanked the community for supporting his reelection on August 8.
“I would like to thank you for the votes you gave me in August 8 polls. I also thank you for electing for two Jubilee Members of Parliament. I assure you the national Government will continue working for you to ensure you get the services you require,” he said.
The meeting was attended by MPs Mathias Robi (Kuria West), Marwa Kitayama (Kuria East) and former Migori Senator Wilfred Machage.
