Uhuru who spoke during the induction meeting for the 2017-2022 Governors and Deputy Governors in Kwale said every Kenyan has a role to uphold and respect the Constitution.
The NASA coalition led by strategist David Ndii has been pushing for the split of Kenya to make regions deemed marginalised independent.
“Everything we do, we must do within the Constitutional order. We have all sworn respectively to uphold that Constitution and respect it and I expect each one of us to do so,” Uhuru said.
“ So as much as within that order I extend my hand, I also want to make it very clear that those who wish to operate outside that order should expect nothing else than to be dealt with firmly.”
“We shall not entertain any language and we shall not entertain any action that threatens the territorial integrity of our nation or that threatens the life and property. So long as those things are left aside we can talk, but if you dare cross that line, the law will be law.”
According to Ndii, successive Kenyan governments have perpetuated a culture of impunity through rigged elections that deny Kenyans from other tribes the ability to self-determine and even grown economically.
He says the only option remaining is to divide the country into two- one called Central Republic of Kenya and the People’s Republic of Kenya.
“In the wake of a rigged 2017 election and subsequent killings, it is time to chart our own course as the people who believe in change.”
Coast leaders led by Governor Hassan Joho have also been calling for the separation of Coast claiming the region has since independence been sidelined in development.
But Jubilee MPs recently said they will use their tyranny of numbers in Parliament to defeat the secession Motion in case it’s brought to Parliament.
