President Uhuru Kenyatta says he is not afraid to face his archrival Raila Odinga in August polls adding that the opposition leader has insignificant chances of beating Jubilee.
Although Odinga is yet to be named flag bearer of the opposition team NASA, top ODM leaders have endorsed his bid.
And in unlikely soft tone on Tuesday, Uhuru said he is eager to beat the man who closely challenged him in 2013 elections.
“He was Prime Minister and his friends were Vice Presidents yet they lost to me,” said Uhuru, adding that he was sure of a convincing victory in August.
The head of state added: “They cannot beat us and that is a bet. They only dwell on propaganda and innuendo and Kenyans have known their stylish tactics.”
In 2013, Odinga garnered slightly over 43 percent of votes cast while Uhuru managed to beat the constitutional threshold of 50 percent.
But a united opposition under NASA is reportedly giving the president hectic moment and he is keen to venture into regions that have traditionally voted opposition.
