President Uhuru Kenyatta has defended his victory saying he was credibly elected and the petitions filed before the Supreme Court do not hold water.

Through his lawyer, Fred Ngatia said on Thursday that all complaints and allegations made by petitioners cannot satisfy the court to invalidate his October 26 win.

In his submissions, Ngatia argued that the fresh presidential election did not need primaries, adding that the exercise is only required in a general election or when the office of the president is announced vacant.

''The court ordered a fresh presidential election within sixty day and the electoral body did it.Those who were in the August 8 presidential race were included in the repeat poll.So saying the president was not validly elected on the bases of IEBC failing to conduct primaries is not correct because nominations are only done in the general election or in the event that the office of the president is vacant, he said.

Ngatia further submitted that NASA's withdrawal from the repeat poll was an abandonment of the electoral process, urging the court to hold and find the cases before it is not merited.
