Last month Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i condemned politicians who conduct political rallies in school grounds and banned the practice saying anyone caught doing so will be met with harsh penalties.
"We should not create unnecessary anxiety and disruption of school programmes by allowing political rallies in school compounds," said Matiang'i last month.
However, on Tuesday President Uhuru Kenyatta defied the CS directive by attending a political rally at Masimba high school where he was hosted by Jubilee Kisii county gubernatorial aspirant Senator Chris Obure.
Also at the venue were Kisii senatorial candidate Charles Nyachae, Richard Tongi (MP Nyaribari Chache) and many other politicians.
Is the President above the law.
