President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered for in-depth investigations to establish the cause of the fire which razed down Gikomba Market.
The president ordered that stern action be taken against anyone found culpable of starting the Friday morning inferno.
"Security agencies should move with speed to investigate the cause of the fire, and those believed to be behind the criminal act should face the fullforce of the law," he said.
The fire comes barely a month after a similar inferno brought down part of the market leading to heavy losses.
Witnesses suspect arson as the cause although police have not reported a suspect.
