President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed Attorney General Githu Muigai to continue registering churches in line with the freedom of religion guaranteed under the Constitution.

President Kenyatta said churches played an important role in the country and should not be stopped from providing spiritual nourishment so long as they don’t engage in activities that break the law.

The Head of State was speaking when he addressed a mammoth public rally at Voi Stadium in Taita Taveta County.

Other speakers included Deputy President William Ruto, Taita Taveta Senator Dan Mwazo, Women Rep Joyce Lay and Taveta Member of Parliament Naomi Shaban among others.
