The IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati had earlier this week revealed that the stalemate between his team, NASA, and Jubilee was almost set to become history after Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta agreed to meet at Bomas of Kenya on Tuesday to reach a consensus on the matter.

When Tuesday finally came, NASA leader Raila Odinga together with his three co-principal Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetangula arrived early at the Bomas of Kenya ready to meet Chebukati and Uhuru.

Earlier reports had indicated that Uhuru was to come into the meeting in the afternoon but it later turned out that the Head of State decided to send his deputy William Ruto to the IEBC meeting.

Ruto insisted that they are ready for polls but NASA was dragging them behind based on their irreducible minimums.

"As a party, we have no conditions, no irreducible minimums. We are ready for the polls," said Ruto.

This change of tact from Uhuru happens despite directions that candidates were to appear in person during the meeting.

Siaya Senator James Orengo has intimated that no agreement has been reached despite mounting pressure from the clergy and the international community which has threatened Kenyan leaders with travel bans if they are found to be frustrating IEBC.

Orengo said anti-IEBC demos will still go on come Friday until their irreducible minimums are factored.
